The anticipation of a new baby is so beautiful, especially when there are so many others to share it with. There are always so many feelings as you prepare to have a baby—fear, hope, excitement, worry, joy, stress, unsurity, peace, and on and on. Some days (or months) feel like they go on forever and you feel like the nausea or discomfort or waiting will never end, and some days feel like it is going by much too quickly. It is a sacred time—a time where a woman becomes a mother and bonds with her unborn baby. Not only is a baby being created, but a mother is being created, a father is being created, and a family is being created.

I was so thrilled to be able to photograph this stunning mama-to-be and her family in a maternity session at a park in Roseville. I’m so glad they decided to document this fleeting time in their lives. We couldn't have asked for better weather or light and it was easy to see how excited everyone was for this coming up adventure as a family of five. The love that this family showed to each other was sweet and pure and it was easy to see that this baby is going to have so much fun with his older brother and sister. This baby is going to be surrounded by love and joy, and that is such a wonderful blessing to have.
