I absolutely love photographing families over and over again and I love watching them grow and change. I had recently taken maternity pictures for this family, so I was anxiously waiting news of their sweet little boy joining their family. I always feel like it is such a treat to go into someone’s home and meet their newborn and freeze time for them with photographs because this phase of life is extremely fleeting. It is sometimes hard to remember in the middle of the night when you are exhausted and you’ve fed baby twice already that this will pass, but it soon does and then you are left wondering where the time has gone. Life is chaotic and messy and imperfect, but that shouldn’t stop us from documenting it ourselves or hiring someone else.

The love that this Mama, Daddy, and Grandma showed this beautiful new baby was incredible. He became their whole world, and rightly so. Grandma beamed at her daughter as she watched her care for her new grandson. Mama admired every single detail, soaking it in and memorizing all she could, and Dad took the utmost care as he held his little boy. This boy definitely won’t miss out on love, and that is such a gift. I am grateful to have been able to witness and capture it all. What an amazing time in life to go through. It is like no other.
