Isn’t amazing how having a newborn happens every day in this world, but it is so beautiful and as far from ordinary when it becomes your own story. I loved the feeling I got when I walked in to this sweet family’s home. It was calm and relaxed. Even in the bit of chaos that having a newborn always seems to bring with a change in your schedule, unexpected things you have to worry about, lack of sleep, etc, it was amazing to just see how this family just went with the flow of it all. The other feeling that was so palpable was the immense love they had for this little guy already. I could tell they would go to the end of the world and back for him and do whatever it takes to care for him. I think any of us parents can relate to that, but it is an incredible thing to witness it when you first meet someone.

Photographing this family and their new little baby was so wonderful. I knew that the parents trusted me and that means so so much to me as a photographer. This is a special and sacred time in a family’s life and to be able to be trusted to document such a fleeting phase is a gift. It was so meaningful that Grandma got to be in some of the photos too. What a lucky and blessed little boy to have a family that is surrounded by love and hope and happiness.
